Meet the Pet Approved Humans!

Emily McDaniel

Zoomie Coordinator

Hi! My name is Emily, and I’m the proud owner of Fur-enzy Pet Sitting. I graduated from Colorado State University in 2024 with a degree in Business Administration, focusing on Organizational Management, and a minor in Global Environmental Sustainability. I’ve called Fort Collins home for several years now and absolutely love the community—especially spending time wandering around Old Town and exploring the outdoors.

Fur-enzy Pet Sitting was born from my lifelong love of animals and my desire to create a business that provides reliable, compassionate care for pets while supporting their humans, too. I’ve spent years caring for animals, from horses during my time as a professional horseback rider to my beloved Pitbull mix, Finley, who keeps me laughing and active with his endless love for walks and snuggles. I’m also in the early stages of launching a second business that offers project management services to local shops and small businesses in the Fort Collins area—something I’m equally passionate about.

Outside of work, I enjoy snowboarding, paddle boarding, weight lifting, reading, and just about anything that gets me moving or thinking. One of my goals is to compete in bodybuilding one day, and I’m always finding new ways to challenge myself. I’m so excited to continue growing Fur-enzy and to be part of your pet’s life, offering them the same love, patience, and care I give to my own.

Layla Levine

Sass and Snouts Specialist

Hi! My name is Layla. I was born and raised in Colorado and graduated high school in 2024 before heading to college in Steamboat Springs. While there, I began working at the Routt County Humane Society and quickly realized that, although college wasn’t the right fit at the time, I had found a real passion for working with animals. After moving back home, I joined the team at NOCO Humane, where I continued building my skills and deepened my understanding of animal behavior and care.

I live with my family and our lively crew of pets, including my cat Chicken, my dog Misty, three other dogs, another cat, and a bird! I’ve spent my life surrounded by animals and truly treat them like family. When I’m not at home watching movies with my pets, I enjoy staying active—hiking, walking, or lifting at the gym. I also dream of opening my own bakery one day, so I’m always working on improving my baking skills while continuing to support and care for animals. I’m excited to be part of Fur-Enzy and look forward to helping pets stay happy, healthy, and active!

Peyton Hartwick

Sniff Snoopervisor

Hello! My name is Peyton, and I’m a student at Colorado State University studying Rangeland Management. My passion for animals and the outdoors has led me to gain experience working on ranches, assisting with wildlife rehabilitation, and caring for pets in a traditional dog boarding facility. It was through that work that I discovered how much I enjoy providing personalized care, especially for animals that may not thrive in high-energy or kennel-style environments.

I’ve worked with a variety of dogs—shy, reactive, energetic, or those needing a quiet space—and I believe every pet deserves thoughtful, individualized attention based on their unique personality. I currently live in Fort Collins and love spending my free time outside hiking, riding, and hanging out with my own animals. I’m excited to connect with you and provide your pets with the same level of care I would want for my own.

Valerie Marquez

Expert Snack Consultant

Hello! My name is Valerie and I am a student at Colorado State University pursuing a degree in Fish and Wildlife Conservation Biology. I am very passionate about wildlife and animals, and finding an opportunity to work with families and their loving pets as a part-time job is amazing! I have about a year of experience in pet sitting and dog walking, which I’ve truly enjoyed. At home, I have a cat named Miso, the cutest little guy, and in my free time I love to read, hike, cook, and spend time with my family and my best friend Abigail.

My future career plans are to work with marine mammals in Australia and continue exploring the world as much as possible. I would love to study animal behavior and work with rehabilitation centers and sanctuaries in the future. Fur-enzy is a great place to keep learning about pet behavior while also providing excellent care and service to families and their pets. I am super excited to be working here and to continue growing my experience!

Gabriele Goldberg

Treat Distribution Specialist

Hi! My name is Gabi. I’m originally from Denver, NC, but I’ve been living in Fort Collins for the past four years. My love for animals has been with me since I was a child, which made it especially meaningful to graduate from CSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. During my time in school, I gained not only classroom knowledge but also incredible hands-on experience working with animals. At home, I share life with my bearded dragon Michael and several other pets, which has taught me the responsibility of caring for more than just myself. Over the past two years, I’ve also trained dogs, giving me valuable insight into what it takes to manage and care for pups beyond my own household.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from dog training is that every family and every dog is unique. While many owners face common challenges like potty training or leash manners, I make it a priority to really get to know both the pet parent and the pup. Building trust and tailoring care to each situation is something I take great pride in. Now, as a recent CSU graduate, I’m excited to find more opportunities to spend time with and care for animals. My goal is to continue building meaningful connections with pets and their families while using my education and hands-on experience to provide the best possible care. I’m eager to dedicate my time and energy to helping animals thrive!
